Black Women’s Reproductive Health: Let’s talk about it! As a community, we too often neglect having discussions around mental health and our common stressors. The effects of stress play a huge role in our overall well-being especially on our reproductive health.

“For black women in America, an inescapable atmosphere of societal and systemic racism can create a kind of toxic physiological stress, resulting in conditions — including hypertension and pre-eclampsia — that lead directly to higher rates of infant and maternal death. Black women are three to four times as likely to die from pregnancy-related causes as their white counterparts, according to the C.D.C.”

Join us as we explore the usual causes of stress amongst Black women, its long term effects on the body and most importantly, how to deter fatal outcomes by embracing preventive care.
